What kind of fire should I choose?
Whichever type you choose, your fireplace will add charm to your house. Each fuel type has its advantages, and which fuel is best mostly depends on where it’s going and what your lifestyle is like. You may also be restricted by what sort of fuel is available- if you don’t have mains gas, you won’t be able to have a gas fire, and if you live in a smokeless zone you’ll be restricted on what you can burn.
- Gas fires are hugely efficient and cheap to run, giving off an intense but clean heat.
- Electric fires are safe and don’t require a chimney, so they can be attached to any wall in your home. Don’t be put off by the image of old fashioned electric heaters – ours look amazing, as well as being easy to maintain and cheap to run – perfect for busy people.
- A solid fuel fire could involve a bit of initial work and expense, but the results are well worth it. A solid fuel fire warms your heart, as well as your home!
Once you’ve decided on what sort of fire you’d like, think about the size and output you need, and whether it’s going to be the primary heat source in the room.
